POEM: 2000 Years Away, by Marilyn Hepburn

There is a Love in this world
That has no concept of time.
As I sit on the water’s edge
And close my eyes
I can hear the waves crash upon the shore.
I can feel the wind gently kiss my skin.
The sun beams down and embraces my soul.
And her hand holds mine
To remind me she has never left my side.

There is a Love in this world
That has no concept of time.
Waves sound no more or less beautiful
Than they did 2000 years away.
The wind is no more or less kissable
Than it was 2000 years away.
The sun is no more or less embracing
Than it was 2000 years away.
And her touch is no more or less loving
Than it was 2000 years away.

There is a Love in this world
That has no concept of time.
For when I close my eyes
Hearing the waves on the shore
Feeling the wind kiss my skin
Being embraced by the warmth of the sun
And protected by the touch of her Love
I’m not able to tell
If I am here in the present moment
Or if I am 2000 years away.

There is a Love in this world
That has no concept of time.
The infinite nature
Of the empty space behind the moon and the stars
Is no more or less magical
Than it was 2000 years away.
I have a feeling

Two thousand years away
Is not far at all
Because there is a Love in this world
That has no concept of time.
